Private wakeboarding or waterskiing experience in Westfjords

A wonderful experience for a beginners and intermediate riders. This tour takes you riding beneath stunning mountains on a white sand beach next to a little fishing village called Flateyri in Westfjords. This trip is perfect half day activity allowing you to experience the sport in the Atlantic Ocean surrounded by unforgettable views. Our guides will be happy to tell stories of history, folklore, and life in a small town close to the arctic circle. We love questions too!

Dedicate your day to wakeboarding or waterskiing only.  Booking a full day option allows you to experience additional spots on the same day, or have a long time practicing  at the beach.

Duration of the trip: 4 hours as a half day option or 7 hours as a full day option. Meeting up in Isafjordur 09:00. Guide will provide required information and gear for the guests. We will drive to the beach all together and enjoy our day.

Minimum age: 12 years.   

Wildlife: During the summer, we can expect to see many sea birds including oystercatchers, Arctic terns, and eider ducks. 

Group size: We need a minimum number of 2 participants to operate the tour. Maximum  group size is 4.

What to bring: Comfortable shoes, warm outdoor clothing, hat, sunglasses, small towel, sunscreen, water bottle, light snack if preferred. 

Additional requirements: Guests must know how to swim and be comfortable in the water. 

* Wetsuit keeps us on the surface and each person is required to wear a PFD while wakeboarding. Previous wakeboarding, snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding experience and general fitness will increase the chances you stand up and ride on the first trip.

* Your first-time enjoying water sports and have difficulty standing up on wakeboard or water skies? No worries, we will provide beginner friendly knee board which is great to practice first steps. 

* We are happy to present an add-on for Summer 2024! We added paddle boards to our gear list and we will be able to offer paddle boarding during this tour. How it will work: 3-4 guests can split into two groups, one group will wakeboard/waterski/knee board as normal, while the other can experience paddle boarding within linked beach/ocean area. Groups then swap and get a chance to enjoy a second experience!

Our first stop is the magnificent Dynjandi waterfall, often referred to as the "Jewel of the Westfjords." Take your time to explore the surrounding area, marvel at the lush greenery, and capture unforgettable photos. Re-energized and ready for more adventure, we'll make our way to Holt Beach, a picturesque location with panoramic views of the surrounding fjords. Here, the real excitement begins as we gear up for a thrilling wakeboarding/waterskiing experience. Whether you're nearly professional, or a beginner, our expert instructors will provide guidance and support to ensure an unforgettable ride. Would like to go for a full day adventure? We are offering unforgettable wakeboarding and hiking experience for beginners and experienced riders. This tour takes you riding in magnificent alpine lake next to a small fishing village called Suðureyri. This is a day trip allowing you to experience two activities, hiking and wakeboarding/waterskiing while being surrounded by stunning views. We will be able to provide snorkeling gear to experience crystal clear water of Vatnadalsvatn too.

Duration of the trip: 7 hours. We meet up in Isafjordur at 09:00. The guide will provide required information and gear for the guests. We pack our gear and lunch in our backpacks. Afterwards, we will jump in our van and drive to the beginning of the hike. The hike will be around 1 hour each way. When reaching the lake your guide will set up towing gear for water sports. We will ride in teams of 2. Your guide will give a lesson on the shore and instructions how to assist each other in the water. Guide will control towing device, observe guests who are riding, give tips for improvement, and will assist in the water if needed. If group is bigger then 2 guests, it is a great opportunity for others to hike around this wonderful lake or use your snorkel and mask!

What to bring: 30-40 liters backpack, comfortable hiking shoes, warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants, hat and gloves, sunglasses, small towel, sunscreen, lunch for the day (keep it light, one or two sandwiches, some snack), water bottle. 

* While packing your gear please have in mind to leave some space in your backpack for a wetsuit, mask and snorkel. 

Additional requirements: Guests need to be able to hike 2-3 km distance in moderate difficulty hiking trail carrying 15-20 kg backpack. Know how to swim and be comfortable in the water.

Duration: Full-day 6-hour experience.

Meeting Point: Parking lot by Netto grocery store in Isafjordur, Hafnarstræti 9-13. Our guides will provide essential information and gear before we departure on our journey together to the beach.

Time: 09:00 am.

Activities: Our guides will demonstrate some equipment and run a little practice on the beach. We will make a warmup and have a stretching session all together. Afterwards we would divide the group in half and run the activities simultaneously. Each guest will have a chance to experience both since we will switch in the middle of the tour. Each guest will receive a lot of attention during both activities and will have a great chance to fully experience it.

As we will run two activities at the same time, no one will be unoccupied. One guide will lead an exciting paddleboarding trip, another wakeboarding/waterskiing adventure. You will glide through the waters, soaking in the scenic views and enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings. We are using beginner friendly gear, wetsuit will keep you warm, life vest and professional guidance will keep you safe. 

Group Dynamics: For larger groups (min 5, max 8 participants), our two skilled guides will ensure a personalized experience. One guide will oversee the paddleboarding expedition, while the other guides the wakeboarding adventure.
